Car hire and rentals: travel at your own pace
A private transfer gives you a driver for an agreed journey. A hire car gives you more control over your itinerary, but also responsibility for driving, parking and the rental agreement. Choose the option that suits your plans and experience.
Start with the journey
Consider the number of passengers, luggage, destinations and length of your stay. For airport arrivals, a transfer lets you arrange the pickup and destination ahead of your trip.
If you choose a rental
Ask the rental provider for written details of the vehicle, collection and return arrangements, deposit, fuel policy and charges. Check the excess, exclusions and roadside assistance, and photograph the vehicle’s condition before accepting it. Keep self-drive arrangements with the rental provider separate from a transfer booked with our team.

Check your driving documents
For UK visitors, FCDO guidance says to carry your UK driving licence and a 1968 International Driving Permit. Arrange the permit before leaving the UK and check that your licence and insurance cover the vehicle you intend to drive. Visitors with licences issued elsewhere should check the rules that apply to them. Do not leave your passport as rental security.
Space and practical needs
Check luggage space as well as seats. Families may need room for a pushchair, and sports equipment can require a larger vehicle. Discuss child seats and other requirements before the travel date.
For a private transfer
Compare our five vehicle classes and their capacities, or contact the team about a larger group or another route. Share the full pickup and drop-off addresses so the journey can be planned clearly.
